And I meant it.
But I also hear you. I see the messages. I know that for some of you, the idea of having anyone even someone you trust come into your home with a newborn and a toddler running circles and washing on the couch and life happening everywhere… it’s just one more thing to manage when you’re already running on empty.
So I did something about it.
Introducing Stills Studio Sessions a private, beautiful, calm studio space I’ve opened up just three spots one Saturdays a month, tucked inside the gorgeous Blossom Hair & Beauty in the Sutherland Shire.
No tidying. No rearranging furniture. No apologising for the mess.
Just you, your people, and your brand new baby in a space that’s been set up and styled purely for this moment.

Everything you need to know
before you arrive
Newborn age: Babies from 1 week to 12 weeks old welcome. Every age is beautiful in its own way.

Easy access: Off-street parking, accessible ramp and lift, and plenty of space for your pram.

What to bring: Just your baby, yourselves, your babies essentials and anything sentimental you'd love included. I'll handle the rest.

Your Gallery: Your private gallery is delivered within 4 weeks, with professional print options.

Booking: A deposit secures your date. The remainder of your payment is due 48 hours prior to your session. Payment plans available.

I'm Jodie, I'm a Sutherland Shire mum.
I genuinely get it.

As a mum myself, I know what it's like to have thousands of photos on your phone, photos you took and barely be in any of them. I know what it's like to look back and realise you were always behind the camera.

That's why I created Your First Time. Not for Pinterest-perfect newborn shots. For the real thing, the tiny fingers, the way you hold your baby, the look on your partner's face. The moments that remind you, years from now, how it felt to be right here.

I'm patient, I'm calm, and I've worked with every kind of baby, wild, sleepy, hungry, gassy, and everything in between. You don't need to have it together. That's my job.

Q: Why can we only have 4 people. A: Due to the size of the space and timing the max people I can have at one time is 4 including baby.
Q: What if my baby won't settle or needs a feed mid-session? A: This is exactly why I've structured each session with generous buffer time built in. Feed your baby, settle your baby, change your baby — we have the time. I've photographed hundreds of newborns and I've seen every scenario. Nothing phases me, and nothing will stop us from capturing beautiful images of your family.
Q: What should I wear? Do I need to co-oordinate outfits? A: Wear something you feel comfortable and like yourself in. Soft tones creams, whites, warm earthy shades photograph beautifully in the studio. But honestly, don't stress. I'll give you guidance when you book. This isn't about perfect outfits; it's about the people wearing them.
Q: Can I bring a prop or keepsake? A: Absolutely. I provide a full wardrobe of newborn knits, wraps, and blankets, but if there's something meaningful to you a special outfit, a family heirloom, a toy bring it. The most beautiful images are the ones that feel like you.
Q: How is the studio set up? Will other people be around? A: The studio at Blossom Hair & Beauty is completely private and quiet. While the salon is operating on Saturdays, you'll be in a separate, quiet room just the three of you and me. It's calm, beautiful, and designed entirely with your newborn's comfort in mind.
Q: Is the venue accessible with prams? A: Yes,Blossom Hair & Beauty has off-street parking, a ramp, and a lift. You can bring your pram without any worry. I want this experience to be as easy as possible for you.
Q: When will I see my photos? How does the gallery work? A: Your private online gallery will be delivered within 4 weeks of your session via Pic-Time. You'll receive at least 40 images to view before choosing your collection. If you want more than your package includes, you can upgrade directly from your gallery. Professional prints are also available through the gallery.
