​​The Mum Behind the Camera Who Truly Gets It

Hi beautiful! I'm Jodie a Sutherland Shire local through and through, proud mum, and sentimental soul who's been obsessed with documenting life since the Myspace days (yes, I was that friend with a camera in her bag on every night out 🙈).
​
These days, I capture family, newborn, maternity, and motherhood moments the real ones. The cuddles, the giggles, the chaos, and the quiet in between. I believe in freezing time, not faking perfection. My sessions are relaxed, guided, and full of heart just like the families I work with.​
Why I do what I do
My journey into family photography started the way most mum photographers' stories do with my own children. I found myself constantly behind the camera, documenting every milestone, every silly face, every precious moment. But then I realised something heartbreaking: I was barely in any of the photos.

As a mum, I know that feeling of always being the one taking the pictures while wondering if you belong in the frame too. I know the frustration of missing beautiful spontaneous moments because by the time you ask someone to grab the camera, your toddler has moved on to something else.

That's exactly why I do what I do.​
I became a family photographer because I believe every mum deserves to be celebrated and remembered exactly as she is.
Not when she loses weight, not when her hair is perfect, not when the kids are older but right now, in this beautiful season of motherhood.

This is home for me and my family. I've spent my whole life on these beaches and in these parks, so I know which spots feel relaxed, pretty and not full of people wandering through your photos. I know the best playgrounds in Caringbah, the perfect coffee stops in Cronulla, and exactly when the light hits beautifully at Darook Park.

I get the season you’re in
Newborn haze, toddler negotiations, small humans losing it over the wrong colour cup… I’m in the trenches too. I photograph families in a way that helps you see the good stuff you might miss in the daily juggle.

Sessions move at kid-speed
No rushing, no pressure to perform, no “please smile nicely for the nice lady.” If someone needs a snack, a break or time to show me a Very Important Shell, we pause. Kids settle faster when they feel safe and unhurried.

You can be yourselves
You don’t need to pose like you’re on a magazine cover. You just hang out with your kids, I guide gently when needed, and we end up with photos that feel like your actual family, not a stiff version of it.

Yes, you get beautiful images, but you also get someone who genuinely cares. I take my time with every edit, I want you to enjoy the whole process, and I’m invested in creating photos your family will hold onto.
My approach
It's simple. I want your photos to feel like your actual family, not a dressed-up version you barely recognise.
The way your daughter fiddles with her hair, the way your son watches you like you’re his whole world, the way you automatically pull your baby in close… that’s the stuff that matters.
The best images happen when you forget about the camera and just get on with being together reading stories, walking along the beach, collapsing into a laughing pile because someone told a ridiculous joke. And comfort sits at the centre of all of it.
I take the time to get to know you, work with your kids’ personalities, and move at a pace that feels good so your photos look like you’re genuinely enjoying the moment, not trying to power through it.
